Welcome to Baarrooka Alpaca Stud.

We breed high quality, show winning suri alpacas in white and colours.

Our breeding program is based on Peruvian Accoyo and Allianza genetics including Senator, Amador, Cadete, Helado, Top Hat, Bosisto, Zosimo, T-Pito, Icalon and Stirling Moss.

An important part of our breeding program has also been Cedar House Winslow, a coloured Senator/Amador herdsire who we have used extensively across our herd. His offspring show very good lustre and locking and are the finenest in the herd with very little guard hair, even in the brisket area.

We are using our new US male, Young Accoyo Rockefeller over the Winslow daughters to increase density and then will use our second US male, Lafite's Peruvian Encore, who is the complete package, to cement that density and increase all over fibre coverage, while maintaining the fineness and low primary fibres. Encore also has a great fleece growth with a length of over 15 cm/yr.

We have selected 8 females from our herd to use in our ET Program, utilising many of the current top herdsires around the country to see which blend of genetics produces the best outcome. Each year we intend to discard donors in favour of their best daughters, and each year hope to get closer to our breeding objectives.

We expect to have developed a strong and consistent line that is recognisably BAARROOKA within the next 5 years. See photos of ET cria.

Baarrooka is a 640 acre (256 hectare) property in the picturesque Strathbogie Ranges in North Central Victoria and is ideal alpaca country. It is located 180 kilometres and an easy 2 hours drive up the Hume Freeway from Melbourne. Map.

Baarrooka sells lightweight aluminium alpaca panels. The range includes panels, joiners and a gate set. Special orders also taken for sheds or floats. Details.
